Lonnie and I were work friends at L3Harris for the last 15 years. Lonnie was a super kind, compassionate brilliant, soft spoken, and humble man. We were both Mechanical Designers and would often talk music. I was always amazed at his stories of musical events he played, famous musicians he knew and had shared the stage with, and how talented and successful his sons Deric and Levi were and how proud he was of them. He also use to share stories of how happy he was when he donated his time and talent teaching young kids music and finding donated instruments for them. His engineering skills intersected music often with his custom RocTone guitar line, stands, cases, pedals, etc. He was an amazing man, musician and friend that i`m proud to have known. You are gone way to soon but I wish you eternal peace Lonnie. May God bless your beautiful spirit.

Lonnie was without a doubt one of the finest people I have had the privilege to know. He was a generous man, a good friend, and was extremely proud of his wonderful talented family. I was able to work with Lonnie on several musical projects, and his creative energy and musical chops were always impressive. Lonnie was also a skilled designer, and his hand made steel guitars will soon become coveted collector's items, I am quite sure. But as impressive as all this is, his best attribute was being a good soul who loved his fellow man. His passing is a great loss to all of us who knew and loved Big Ben.

Lonnie will be greatly missed. We spent many years working together at our day jobs. We shared more lunches and mid-afternoon coffee runs than I could possibly count. I always knew Lonnie would share a good laugh any day that I needed it. He absolutely adored his family and was always ready to share about anything new and exciting that was going on. He was SO proud of his children, and you could see that whenever you chatted with him. He would smile ear to ear!
When my younger son was born, he was ecstatic to hear that he was named Bennett. Lonnie made sure to help spread the news at work, and he let everyone believe that Bennett was named after him! Lonnie knew that the Bennett name was also in my family tree. Boy, did he eat up all the attention caused by naming my son after him. We were still laughing about it years later! Photo included with Lonnie and baby Bennett from 2014 :)

May God's perpetual light shine upon Lonnie, a soul filled with friendliness and faith. His spirit was gentle yet vibrant, his love palpable and infectious. I fondly recall his quiet kindness during my visits to Rochester for church events where he serenely shared his generous spirit along with Cherrie. He gifted us all with warmth through the radiance of his smile. My deepest sympathies extend to Cherrie and their children. All of you remain nestled in my prayers and held close in love within my heart.

Lonnie was one of the kindest souls I have ever met and I will miss him terribly. I will fondly remember citing the 1985 movie Spies Like Us with him each time we passed each other at work...."Doctor, doctor, doctor..." His smile was infectious.
