ROCHESTER, NY – June 15, 2023
Michael Laverne Strozier was born June 13, 1966 in Rochester, NY. He is the son of Estell Strozier Jr. and Carolyn (Coles) Strozier. He married Gloria Diane Stevens on February 14, 1991.
Michael was best known as Vern. Vern served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve, joining at the tender age of 17. He was employed by Innovative Care in Rochester, New York as a Caregiver. Vern loved people, and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. Vern was passionate about his music and his lifestyle, he was an excellent drummer and was a member of a band. He enjoyed expressing himself through music.
He was dedicated to his children. The Unity between his brothers was always the Word ONE. Vern was always dependable with encouraging words and loved to make people laugh.
Vern departed this life on June 15, 2024, just 2 days after his 58th birthday. He is predeceased by; one brother, Steffan (Bouvier) Tyson. Vern is survived by; his wife, Gloria Diane Strozier; his children, Casey Moore, Malaysha (Eddie) Leonard, Elijah Strozier, Khadijah Strozier, Candice Waters, Brian Waters, and Timothy Washington; his eight grand children; his mother, Carolyn (Ronnie) Falligan; his three brothers, Derrick Strozier, Darrell (Gerri) Strozier, James (Jeanette) Strozier; his two sisters, Veronica (Kandia) Breedlove, Carletta (Joseph) Carter, and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, June 29 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Emmanuel Temple Church, 1 Seneca Parkway, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow at 12 Noon. Interment Riverside Cemetery - Veterans Sections, Rochester, NY.
