Obituary of Diane Marie Murray

ROCHESTER, NY – May 29, 2024 Diane Marie Murray, affectionately called “Di Di” or “Baby D”, was born July 2, 1985 in Rochester, New York, to James William Walker and Kimberly Danette Murray. She was educated in the Rochester City Schools, graduating from East High School. She furthered her education through REOC and graduated as a CNA. Diane loved children. She enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews. She also possessed a special talent with braiding hair and would create unique styles for the individuals she served. She was employed with Woodcliff Spa. Following a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer, Diane passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Mae Francis Murray; paternal grandmother, Margaret Walker; maternal grandfather, Harvey Murray Sr.; paternal grandfather, William F. Walker; sister, Cynthia Walker; uncle, Harvey Murray Jr.; aunt, Norma Jean Murray; and cousins, Quentin J. Pope and Derrick Murray. Diane’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Morgan B. Marshall; son, Jorden A. Ross; parents, James William Walker and Kimberly Danette Murray; siblings: Terrell (Christina) Murray, Jo-Anne Walker, Michelle (Mike) Murray, Robert (Melinda) Walker, Karen Walker, Rashid Smith, Zukari Logan, and Brandon Williams; non-biological sisters, Charita Murray and Tera Poles; aunts and uncles: Beverly Murray, Joanne Williams, Linda Philips, and Rhonda Murray, James Murray and Robert A. Walker. Diane also leaves a host of cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends, including special friends and relatives: Melvin Marshall and Jessica Williams, her Goddaughter, Pheonix Earle, and her mother-in-love, Mary Hall-Marshall. Friends may call Wednesday, June 5 from 11:00 – 12:00 PM at First Genesis Baptist Church, 292 Hudson Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
