ROCHESTER, NY – April 8, 2024 Joseph C. LaPiana was born July 30, 1936 to the late Joseph C. LaPiana and the late Lucy Giordana LaPiana. Educated in the public schools of Monroe County, in Rochester, New York. After school he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army he worked for Kodak and retired in 1997. Not long afterwards he met the love of his life Ruth Elizabeth Thomas and was united in matrimony on August 26, 1978. He and his wife loved traveling in their leisure. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife Ruth Thomas LaPiana; 1 son Rickey LaPiana; 5 sisters Jean King, Shirley Basil, Lucy Earlsey, Rosemarie (Solomon) Martin, Linda (Digi) Pecora; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. Viewing at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am at Millard E. Latimer & Son Funeral Directors, Inc., 983 South Plymouth Avenue with Father Michael Upson officiating. Interment Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Veterans section, 2461 Genesee Riverway Trail/2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.
