he very first time I met Sam, was a Labor Day weekend. He drove from Rochester, NY to Tewksbury, Massachusetts. He called to tell me he thought he was getting close. He said he was seeing highway signs for Lo well. I thought Lo well, and told him I have no idea where you are. Then it hit me. In Massachusetts sounds like bowl but put the L in place of the B. I started to laugh and said, do you mean Lowell? The very first time we met, he met my entire family at a Labor Day cookout.
No hesitation at all. He fit in like he had know us for years. We knew each other over 9 years and that came up often and we always laughed about it. I love the way he would tell me stories, so very animated and no matter how many times he would tell you a story, he laughed like it was the first time he told it.
The Labor Day cookout, first time meeting and my nieces wedding, the last time I saw Sam in person.
