Obituary of Gladys Siplin

ROCHESTER, NY – May 31, 2023 Mrs. Siplin was born December 12, 1929 in Sanford, FL. She is the daughter of the late Jerry Martin and the late Beulah (Gordon) Hatcher. She was employed by The Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, NY as a Housekeeper. Mother Gladys Siplin departed this life peacefully on May 31, 2023 at the age of 93. She was surrounded by loved-ones in the comfort of her home. Preceded in death by her husband Arthur C. Siplin, sons Bernard Siplin and Alfred Siplin and daughter Betty A. Barkley, Gladys leaves to cherish her memory 4 sons, Arthur Lee Foreman of New York City, Leroy Siplin, Calvin (Deborah) Siplin and Roy (Billy) Siplin; 5 daughters, Barbara Dixon, Gwendolyn Siplin, Geraldine (Emmanuel) Brown, Sharon Gaines and Shelia Gray, all of Rochester, NY; 1 sister, Gwendolyn George of Deland, Fl.; special sister-in-law, Shirley Fielder, sister in law Ruth Siplin, special son-in-law James Barkley, Jr., special friend, Beulah Dennis and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and church family, all of whom she loved very dearly. Apostle Ulyseses and Pastor Joyce Colson were her spiritualcovering for over 25 years, she loved them as her son and daughter. Mother Siplin will be truly missed and her memory cherished by all who loved her. Friends may call Thursday, June 8 from 11-12PM at Abundant Life Faith Ministry, 83 Whitney Street, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will immediately follow. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
