Obituary of Lynn Allen Johnson
Please share a memory of Lynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ROCHESTER, NY – April 03, 2023
LYNN ALLEN JOHNSON was born June 26, 1951, in Rochester, New York. He is the son of the late Donald C. Johnson and the late Gertrude A. (Campbell) Johnson. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1969. Lynn attended Monroe Community College and Oswego State University of New York and graduated with a Major in Business.
He held many different jobs, including positions with Rochester Community Savings Bank and Xerox Corporation. The United States Postal Service, however, was his longest employer, and the position from which he retired.
Throughout his life, Lynn was an extremely talented baseball and slow- pitch softball player. In the latter years of his life, he became interested in computers. He enjoyed repairing and replacing computers for his family and friends.
Lynn was married to Linda Johnson (Carter) on August 25, 1984. The epitome of a gentleman, Lynn was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. More importantly, he was devoted to his church and to God.
Lynn entered into eternal rest on April 3, 2023. He is predeceased by his mother, Gertrude A. Johnson; father, Donald C. Johnson; and two aunts, Anna Robinson and Rose Campbell. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Linda Johnson; two sons, Cedric (Finiece) Johnson and Lynn (Syxx) Williams; two daughters, Pearlie Johson and Wendy Johnson; one brother, Larry (Theresa) Johnson; two sisters, Lorraine (Donald) Burgess and Louise McFarland. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins from both the Johnson and Carter families, church family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 11 from 10-11AM at New Life Fellowship, 330 Wellington Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
