James W Tarrant, age 88, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Rochester.
Mr. Tarrant was born October 6, 1922 at Bamberg, SC the son of the late Allen and the late Daisy (Rice) Tarrant.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. Predeceased by his wife, Jean Frazier Tarrant and daughter, Amber Frazier. He is survived by 4 daughters, Lucille (Sam) Chess, Sandra Tarrant, Ginger Tarrant and Michelle Tarrant; 3 grandchildren, Darren Frazier, Kimberly Chess-Powell, and Ashley Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren, Jarell Chess, Jamia Powell, and Troy Titus III; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Jarell Chess Jr., and Kyrell Chess; 2 sisters, Blanche Tarrant and Lovenia Tarrant; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Thursday 5-8 PM at Latimers. Funeral Service Friday, 12 Noon at Memorial AME Zion Church, 549 Clarissa St. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Q. James officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
