ROCHESTER, NY - December 1, 2022 A life well lived, Mrs. Mary Ann (Coleman) Lightfoot is a native of Mansfield, Louisiana. She is the seventh child of nine children of Rev. John J. Coleman and Mae Theodore Coleman. She was recruited by the Eastman Kodak Company to work as a Development Engineer and moved to Rochester, New York in 1966. Mary Lightfoot has held positions with the City of Rochester School District, the Urban League of Rochester Inc., Monroe Community College and SUNY Brockport Rochester Educational Opportunity Centers. In 1968, she met Frederick Lightfoot, a native of Huntsville, Alabama. The very first day they met he wanted to get married. No way, she said. They were married in 1969. Together they had two sons, John and Steven. Steven passed away January 15, 2004, then she lost her husband in 2010. She is survived by; her son, John (Jeannean); one grandson, John F. Lightfoot II; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jhene, and Eli; Evelyn Lanier, the mother of Jhene and Eli; two sisters, Ruth Coleman Vaughn of Inglewood, California and Josephine Coleman of Auburn, Washington, niece, Dr. Helen Coleman of Springfield, TN, several cousins, friends, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Mary Ann (Coleman) Lightfoot age 84, passed away on 12/1/2022. The calling hours for Mrs. Lightfoot will be held on Friday December 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 141 Adams Street, Rochester, NY 14608. AKA Beyond the Wall Ceremony at 11:00 - 11:30 AM. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Her Interment be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
