Obituary of Elrieta McFadden

ROCHESTER, NY - January 16, 2022 Elrieta (Rita) McFadden was a hard-working mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on January 16, 2022. Rita was born to Willie Brown and Beulah McCrae on April 12, 1941 in Kingstree, SC. She moved to Rochester, NY in 1960. Rita loved knitting, and often made afghans for everyone in the family, especially the newborn babies. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes from her coworkers during her 36 years at Strong Memorial Hospital before retiring as a Medical Records Clerk in 2002. Predeceased by both of her parents, and one grandson: Torry Hunter. Rita leaves to cherish her memory: Her children, Cashandra Brown of New York, NY, Yvette McFadden, Evon McFadden, Laveron McFadden, Toni McFadden, Kesha (Joseph) Carter), all of Rochester, NY, and Keith (Johan) McFadden of Orlando, Fl., Jamar McFadden (the grandchild she raised), 11 other grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; A sister, Willie Harden, her favorite cousin, Hattie Jackson, other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Memorial Service, Thursday, January 27, 2-4 PM at The Latimer Chapel. Interment Private. Mask required.
