Obituary of Maggie B. Hinton

ROCHESTER, NY – November 21, 2021
Maggie Bell Hinton was born on May 26, 1930 to the union of Solomon Hinton and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bell Hinton in Lloyd, Florida (Jefferson County). Maggie was the second youngest of her siblings affectionately known as "Baby Doll".
Maggie received her formal education within the Jefferson County School System. Maggie was baptized at Sweet Field Baptist Church as an adolescent.
Maggie relocated to Rochester, NY in the early 1950's as a young woman with her one and only son Robert J. (Gloria) Kyler a union that produced 5 children.
Maggie worked for the Monroe County State Hospital (Rochester Psychiatric Center) for 33 years as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Aide and was a retiree of the State of New York. She worked a second job and sometimes a 3rd as a Home Health Aide.
Maggie was a quite soul who enjoyed working, traveling, watching evening TV dramas, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family before her health began to decline. In her later years Maggie was an Assisted Living resident at the Heritage Manor in Ransomville, NY and the Rochester Presbyterian Home of Rochester, NY and was a resident at the Kirkhaven Senior Living Community in Rochester, NY at the time of her passing.
Maggie is predeceased by her son, Robert (Gloria) J. Kyler; her grandson, Marcus W. Kyler and siblings Mary Hinton-Mitchell, Solomon Hinton III, William Hinton, Leaster Hinton Miller, Molly Hinton, John Hinton, Celia Hinton and Gracie Mae Hinton.
Maggie is survived by her sister Inez (Georgia) Hinton-Bowman of Lake Mary, Florida. Four Grandchildren: Robert L. Kyler, LeRoy C. Harris III, Tracy (John) Kyler-Harris and Leslie Kyler. Seven Great- Grandchildren Marcus D. Fraiser, Jonathon M. Harris, Jonae' M. Harris, Adya Y. Senior, Johanna M. Harris, Myka A. Lynch and Mekhi E. Lynch and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Graveside Service to Celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Avenue. Interment Riverside Cemetery. Masks required.
