Obituary of Sibert Roy Douglas

ROCHESTER, NY – August 18, 2019 Siebert Roy Douglas, MD, age 90, born June 8, 1929 in Manchester, Jamaica passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Episcopal Church home in Rochester, NY. He moved to Harlem, NY as a child and graduated from City College of New York in 1952, and the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1956. He Married Ruthe Forrest on July 13, 1957. He was Preceded in death by his beautiful wife in 2016, after sharing over 58 years of marriage. He practiced internal medicine for over forty years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Eta Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Gamma Iota Boule of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is survived by his son, Col. Roy (Sherri) Douglas; daughter, Renee D. Jackson; grandsons, Connor and Pierce Douglas; granddaughter, Alex Jackson and numerous other family members and friends. Sibert enjoyed many hobbies including travel, music and the arts, photography, watching baseball, history and woodworking. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at White Haven Memorial Park, Creation Chapel, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY.
