CALEDONIA, NY – March 14, 2019 – US Army Veteran Bishop Joseph was born February 28, 1932 in Yazoo, MS. He is the son of the late Owen Lacey and the late Stella (Rollins) Lacey. He married Dorothy E. Nesmith. He served in the US Army. He was employed by Emmanuel Temple Church Rochester, NY as the Bishop. He is survived by his devoted wife: Dr. Dorothy E. (Nesmith) Lacey;1 son, Michael (Charissa) Lacey; 4 grandchildren, Danielle (John), Michael Joseph Lacey, Joseph Michael Lacey and Sarah E. Lacey; great-grandchildren, Mi'ana Lacey, John Young Jr. and Jada Marie Young; nieces, nephews, other relatives, a host of friends and his church family. Bishop Lacey will lie in State Sunday, March 24th from 4:00 – 9:00 PM at Emmanuel Temple Church, 1 Seneca Parkway, Rochester, NY. Friends may call Monday, March 25 from 9-10AM, also at the church. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Emmanuel Temple Church with Pastor Michael Williams, Officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
