Mr. Banister was born November 23, 1948 in Rochester, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas A and the late Sadie M (Douglas) Banister Sr.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Iris Banister; 3 sons, Thomas A. (Tarsha) Banister III, Simeon I. (Akilah) Banister and Ethan J. (Fatima) Banister; 3 grandchildren, DeMaris, DeMia and Julian Banister; 1 brother, Michael Banister; 1 sister, Linda (Stephen) Griffin; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, church family and a host of friends.
Friends may call Friday, March 18 from 6-9 pm at In Christ New Hope Ministries, 155 Pinnacle Rd. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Omega Service at 7 PM. Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the church. Interment, Riverside Cemetery.
