Obituary of Constance Jane Eli

Constance Jane Eli went to be with her heavenly family on Friday, October 17, 2014 at age 82. A widow since 1975, she is survived by her children, Farrell (Christine), Deidre, and Quinn (Theresa); grandchildren Aja (Mayra), Jeremy, Robin, Samuel and Mira; and her sisters Arlene and Dorothy. Connie taught in New York City for many years before joining her family in Rochester in 1989, where she taught at a number of local schools, most notably World of Inquiry. A dedicated first grade teacher, she retired from the Rochester schools in 1994. In retirement, Connie pursued a variety of interests, including mentoring students and teaching children's Sunday school at Mt. Olivet Church, where she also served on the Baptism Committee and committed herself to Bible study. The family would like to express their appreciation to all who participated in Connie's care at the Lodge at Wolk Manor. Her funeral service will be at 10 am on Wednesday, October 22 at Mt Olivet Baptist Church, 141 Adams Street, Rochester, NY 14608 . Rev. Lawrence Hargrave, Officiating. Private Entombment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in New York, NY.
