Zodwa Ellen Laird, age 72, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 in, Rochester.
Mrs. Laird , Affectionaly know as "ZoZo" was born December 22, 1941 in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. She was the First Born of 7 children to the late Sergent C. and the late Nobayeni D.(Khumalo) Zimba
A loving wife, mother, sister, auntie and political activist. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Laird; children, Darren Dumisani (Django) Stockton Sr., Kholiswa Maisha (Ray) Henry & Nyamekye Laird; 1 sister, Mangi Zimba; 1 sister, Mangi Zimba; 1 sister-in-law, Cheryl Williams; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8 pm at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 141 Adams Street. Funeral Service Wednesday, 11 AM at the Church. Rev. Dr. John S. Walker, Eulogist and Rev. Dr. Johnny M. Harris Jr., Officiating. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery, Henrietta, New York.
