Obituary of Bryan L. D. Bliss

Please share a memory of Bryan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
CANANDAIGUA, NY – January 15, 2024 – US Army Veteran Provider with a strong work ethic and dedication, Bryan Lamont-Davin Bliss, born on May 13, 1959, in Rochester, NY and was called home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2024. Bryan lived a life marked by integrity, hard work, and compassion. He graduated from James Madison High School in 1978, where he laid the foundation for a future defined by resilience and commitment. Entering the United States Army (1978-1984) after graduation, Bryan brought a strong work ethic to every endeavor. His dedication and passion for his work left a lasting impact on those around him. Bryan found his true passion in nursing and graduated from The Rochester school for Practical Nursing in 1993 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 2010 Bryan began to have medical issues which eventually resulted in him becoming a bilateral amputee. The average person would have accepted this diagnosis and altered their life with complacency, not Bryan. He took this as an opportunity to learn and maximize his abilities and not his newfound disability. He enrolled in Finger Lakes Community College and earned his Associates Degree in 2016 and was a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). After some time working as a CASAC, he was called back to his true passion and was given the opportunity to work as an LPN at Thompson Health in Canandaigua until his final moments. Bryan's professional journey was not just a series of jobs but a testament to his character and the values instilled in him from an early age. In addition to his professional achievements, Bryan was a loving family man, he adored his two daughters and his 3 grandchildren. He cherished his relationships and was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His warm smile and caring nature endeared him to many, creating a network of meaningful connections that spanned a lifetime. Bryan found joy in simple pleasures and was known for his love of camping and watching professional golf, football and baseball but most importantly spending time strengthening his relationship with God. Whether spending time with family, pursuing his hobbies, or offering a helping hand to those in need, Bryan approached life with a generosity of spirit that left a lasting impression. He is predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Gordon Bliss, his siblings, LaTonia Bliss, Desiree Coleman and George Bliss (Janice). Survived by his daughters Latoya Bliss-Belt (Lawrence) and Stephanie Bliss grandchildren, Larenz Belt, Dash Paige and Lauryn Belt, Siblings, Gordon Bliss (Veronica), Melissa Bliss, Jyll Cook (William), Craig Bliss, and Timothy Bliss (Pauline) who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and dedication. While we mourn the loss of Bryan Lamont-Davin Bliss, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of memories he leaves behind. His impact on the lives he touched will continue to resonate, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
