Rev. Miller was born December 16, 1944 in Atlanta, GA. She is the daughter of the late Matthew and the late Leola (Strickland) Evans Sr.
Pastor at Genesee Baptist Church for over 23 years.
She is survived by; daughters, Rogena Leonita Miller, MD of Marietta, GA and Veronica Elaine (Vaughan) Miller Fleming, BA, M.Ed. of Anniston, AL; son, Rodney Matthew Miller, BA of Rochester, NY; grandson, Donovan Lee Miller-Lowe; granddaughters, Yvonne Knight, Michelle Leola Miller, Sidney Marie Glenn, Sa'nya Nikole and Amari Delmarshae Fleming; a special granddaughter, Octavia Evans; sisters, Edith (Bobby) Lester and Mattie Conley; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; a special daughter, Monica Jackson-Bakou; a special son, Jimmy E. Kelly III; a special friend for over 42 years, Mary K. Sweeney, Ph.D; her Genesee Baptist and Mt. Olivet Church families, the Talladega College Alumni family, the Rochester Community, and many devoted/supportive friends.
Rev. Miller will lie in state Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Genesee Baptist Church, 149 Brooks Avenue, Rochester, NY. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Omega Omega Ceremony 7:00 PM.
The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 141 Adams Street with Rev. Dr. Michael Marvin McMickle, Officiating, Rev. Dr. Linda Hickman Evans Eulogist. A Graveside Service to Celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Georgia Memorial Park, 2000 Cobb Pkwy S, Marietta, GA with Interment/Burial following.
