ROCHESTER, NY – February 22, 2026
Shirley Green was born on July 29, 1962, in Rochester, New York, to the late Roland Green and Carrie Green (née Rush). She was the seventh of ten children born to this loving union and the youngest of four daughters. On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Shirley departed this life for her heavenly reward at her home.
For many years, Shirley was an active participant at the Al Sigl Center and received support services through Lifetime Assistance, Inc. and The Arc of Monroe. She took great pride in her work programs and remained committed to working up until her untimely passing. Shirley could often be seen diligently working as a cleaner at McDonald’s and at the local malls.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her loving siblings: Lillie Coleman; Richard Green; Herbert (Barbara) Green; Roland Thomas Green; Carrie Ann Green; and Darren (Loretta) Green; sister-in-law, Rhonda Green; her uncle and aunt, Bobby and Janie Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and co-workers.
Friends and Family may call Tuesday, March 3 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Baber AME Church at 550 Meigs Street, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Final resting place Oakwood Cemetery, Penfield, NY.
