Obituary of Jesse Lesure Jr.

ROCHESTER, NY – January 11, 2026

Mr. Jesse Lesure, Jr., was born on August 24, 1960, to the union of the late Jesse, Sr., and Gloria Lesure in Rochester, New York. He attended Rochester Public Schools where he excelled academically,  enjoyed playing on the baseball and soccer teams, and graduated from Madison High School in 1978. He attended Monroe Community College where he earned an associate's degree in computer programming. He spent his career in computer programming with various employers including the University of Rochester. After relocating to Texas he received commendations and awards from his employers including Bank of America.

Jesse was lovingly known by family and friends as "Junior". He had an engaging and uplifting personality and he was a comedian. He loved making people laugh by telling jokes, making fun of people and situations, and his laugh was contagious, it was remarkably similar to Eddie Murphy's laugh.

He loved his family and he was a "hands on" dad when his children were in their formative years. His final visit to Rochester was filled with time with his sons and granddaughters.

Jesse Jr. transitioned from life to everlasting life on January 11, 2026. He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons and their families, Jesse  Lesure III and Melissa Torpey, Terrence Lesure and Amarilis Rosado, granddaughters: London Lesure and Jesselle Lesure, bonus granddaughter: Amiyah Collins; brothers, Lawrence (Beverly) Lesure, James Lesure; sister, Gail (Tyrone) Ward; two aunts, Betty Wyatt and Joan Davis, nieces and nephews, and a multitude of relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 30 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at The Latimer Chapel, 983 South Plymouth Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment at the convenience of the family.
