Obituary of Robert E. Smith

ROCHESTER, NY – April 19, 2025 Robert Errol Smith was born at Harlem Hospital in NYC, NY on February 22, 1941. He is the son of the late Frank Smith and the late Florrie (McClellan) Smith. He was affectionally known as: Dad, Grandpa, Errol, Uncle Errol, Uncle Bob, and Rob. Bob served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and retired as a Master Sargeant (MSGT). After his retirement from the United States Air Force, he served 20 years at the Federal Aviation Administration, (FAA), as an Electronics Technician. Rob married Ruth Ellen Witcher, on April 27, 1974; his wife of 50 years. Together they had four children: Jamal Allen, Ebon Garrett, Kareem Randle, and Robyn Lynn Lincoln (Matthew). He has 3 grandchildren: Ethan Robert Lincoln, Owen Matthew Lincoln, and Aden James Lincoln. He departed this earthly life on April 19, 2025, at the age of 84. He is predeceased by his mother, Florrie McClellan, sister, Gladys Smith, and brother Frank (Bubba) Smith, and stepson, Vernal Babb Smith. He leaves one sister, Gerthena Smith Brandford, and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service to Celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Lakeview Cemetery, 4988 Lake Road S., Brockport, NY. Interment following the service.
