Obituary of Pauline Harris

ROCHESTER, NY – March 25, 2025 Pauline Harris a was born on September 30, 1934 in Humboldt, Tennessee to the late Paul Pearson and the late Aline Massey. As a child, she moved to Rochester, NY with her mother and sister, where she attended school #9 and graduated from East High School. She attended New Bethel CME Church where she sang in the choir and was an usher. She was an active member of the Sanfordnaires Club. Pauline earned her nursing degree, and worked as a LPN at many hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities. She was co-owner of a several businesses, including Cardinal dry cleaners and Cardinal Grocery, Deli. and fish market. Pauline affectionately known as “Nana” or Grandma, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to be in her flower garden, reading her novels and cooking awesome meals and desserts. Pauline passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025 at the age of 90. She is predeceased by her husband, James L. Harris, Jr.; her mother, Aline; her daughter, Deborah Ann Harris Cobbinah and her sister, Norma Jean Walker. She leaves to mourn her passing; her daughter, Pamela Johnson; her son, James L. (Rosemary) Harris III; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; her sisters, Jothella (Ernest) Gipson and Linetta (Paul) Gilbert, and a host of other relatives and many friends. Friends may call Thursday, April 10 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at New Life Fellowship, 330 Wellington Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will immediately follow. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
