ROCHESTER, NY – February 12, 2025 Mrs. Carson was born October 22, 1943 in Rochester, NY. She was the only daughter of three children born to the late Frederick D. McMurdy Sr. and the late Ethel T. (Peterson) McMurdy. Ethel graduated from West High School in 1962. She married Norman R. Carson on May 28, 1966. From the age of 13, she worked a multitude of jobs, all while raising 3 girls, eventually retiring to care for her disabled parents. She went home February 12th, 2025. Ethel is preceded by her parents; Fred and Ethel Thelma McMurdy, and one brother, Roland McMurdy. She is survived by; her three daughters, Crystal McMurdy Hill (Judge), Lisa Carson, Maisha Carson, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Frederick "Junior" McMurdy, other relatives and friends. Friends may call Friday, March 7 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Baber A.M.E. Church, 550 Meigs Street, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY.
