Nellie L. Bostick was born in Burlington, NC on January 22, 1927, to Charlie Collins and Lula Johnson. She is the youngest of three (3), one brother and one sister.
Nellie met the love of her life, Thomas J. Bostick, upon his return from serving in World War II.
They married on March 3, 1947, and moved to Rochester, NY. From their union, three (3) loving daughters were born - Sheila, Debra and Victoria – the “Bostick girls.”
Nellie worked at Bernz-O-Matic for 33 years before the company moved to Medina, NY. She then worked at Burroughs Corporation for 10 years before retiring. She was a hardworking wife and mother and instilled this value in her daughters.
Nellie enjoyed bowling and traveling – attending many Superbowl games. The Superbowl train rides Nellie and TJ took with their best friends were legendary. No tickets, just tailgates and lots of laughs. During Clarissa St. Reunions, you could always find Nell and TJ sitting in the same location, the site of the old Pythodd Room.
After a lengthy illness, on January 30, 2025, Nellie L. Bostick passed away at age 98. Predeceased by her Husband of 76 years, Thomas J. Bostick, her Parents Charlie Collins and Lula Johnson, Brother Alonzo (Maggie) Lee, Sister Mary Corbett (James), Grandson Derrick Burroughs, and Great-Grandson Keenen Green.
Nellie L. Bostick is survived by her Daughters Sheila Clements, Debra Bostick-Graves and Victoria (James Smith) Butler. She and her memory will be forever cherished by her Grandchildren, Shelly (Dale Walker) Clements, Preston (Cassandra) Clements, Natasha Tyler, Damon Butler, Toby (Kris) Butler, Bryan (Nicola) Burroughs and Stephanie (Henry) Wimbley; her Great-Grandchildren CaTyra, Thomas, Rasheed, Preston, Kayla, Charley, Zari, Tenesha, Marlon, Marvisha, Lamar, Dayna, Jayzime, Kaylana, Irelle and a host of Great-Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
