Deacon Wilson was born June 20, 1928 in Fair Banks, LA. He is the son of the late Phillip and the late Christel Ethel (Jones) Wilson. He married Nathalie Callahan. He was employed by the Rochester School District as a Principal for Madison High School. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Nathalie C. Wilson; 2 sons, Rev. Dr. Johnny M. Wilson, Jr. (Levonne B.) of Springfield, MA, Ruperd E. Wilson (Frances) of Sacramento, CA; 1 daughter, Yolonda Rose Wilson Clarke (Rev. Dr. Kenneth Clarke, Sr.) of Ithaca, NY; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Wilson (Laurena) of Citrus Heights, CA, Lt. Col. Wilson W. Wilson (Georgia) of Monroe, LA, Herman Lee Wilson of Charlotte, NC; sister, Christel Sue Fontenot, Monroe, LA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilson of Citrus Heights, CA; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends. Calling hours will be Friday, December 15 from 5-8 pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 351 Joseph Avenue, Rochester, NY. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Memorial Service at 6:15 pm. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 351 Joseph Avenue, Rochester, NY with Rev. Dr. Harmon E. Stockdale, Officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
